Tchin Tchin was founded by two friends, Nico & Chris, who shared a simple dream: to bring a little piece of France to Bali.

More than a restaurant, Tchin Tchin is a true French brasserie with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Here, a meal should feel like home: hearty pastas, slow-cooked mains, charcuterie and cheese boards built for sharing — an honest, generous take on traditional French cooking.

Why “Tchin Tchin”?

The expression comes from a Chinese phrase meaning “please” or “my treat”, brought back to Europe by sailors and travellers. Over time it became the French way of saying “Cheers!” when raising a glass.

The origin of clinking glasses

In medieval times, clinking glasses — letting a splash of wine pass from one cup to the other — was a gesture of trust between drinkers, a protection against poisoning. The gesture survived as a symbol of mutual trust and friendship. At Tchin Tchin, we like to think every clink of a glass keeps that promise alive.
